• I think of my work as painting a feeling.

Using a palette knife allows me to create bold and highly textured strokes while painting wet on wet. Then a process of sculpting, staining, rubbing, scratching and removing gradually brings a new painting into focus.
I'm inspired by water and the odd beauty of decaying old city walls.

I mix my own colors and paint in separate layers, allowing each to dry in between so that the colors stay crisp and clear.

Color, texture and the reflection of light are key elements of my work. I paint intuitively from the memory of what captivated me about a scene from my seaside studios in Charleston SC and Spruce Head Maine.

My first career as the VP/Creative Director of an Interior Textiles firm as well as time spent living and working in Paris has had a big influence on my second career as an artist. I focus on creating paintings that convey a sense of peace and tranquility while having a big impact on the look and feeling of a space.
